The Kenya Academy of Sports is a state corporation established under Section 33 of the Sports Act No. 25 of 2013. Our mandate is to develop sports talents through establishment and management of academies, training and research for global competitiveness and sustainable socio-economic growth in Kenya
To identify, nurture and develop talent among the youth of Kenya as well as train sports technical personnel. The Academy is envisaged to be a highly specialized Institution for training both athletes and technical personnel in the sports industry and carrying out research to stimulate sport transformation.
(a) Establish and manage sports training academies;
(b) Organize, administer and co-ordinate sports courses for technical and sports administration personnel;
(c) Promote research and development of talent in sports, in collaboration with institutions of higher learning,
national sports organizations and other stakeholders;
(d) Link with other institutions and organizations for regular updates on the current sports trends; and
(e) Perform any other function that may directly or indirectly contribute to the attainment of the foregoing.
