Dr Odhiambo joined the Kenya Academy of Sports in 2016 as the Director SportsResearch Development and later became the Chief Executive officer in August 2019.She has more than 25 years of experience as a Sports Administrator having first worked with the Ministry of Sports, Culture and Heritage where she joined in 1997 until 2016. Apart from sports administration, Dr Odhiambo was also a national team player of field hockey player and played club hockey for more than 15 years. She is also a certified coach of Netball and Pool and Beach International Lifesaving coach.Dr. Odhiambo earned her Doctorate Degree from the University of Central Lancashire, UK in 2015 and also holds a MBA Strategic Management Degree from Kenyatta University (2011). She is an alumni of the FIFA Master Class of 2007 where she earned an International Master’s Degree in Management, Law and Humanities of Sports.

The Directorate is headed by Dr. David Okoti. He is an International Olympic Committee (IOC)-Certified Safeguarding Officer in Sport.
