The out of school talent development programs entail training of athletes who have exited the primary and secondary school levels. This program constitutes three levels each running for 8 months (640 hours).
The Academy shall:
conduct rigorous talent selection across the country;
admit selected athletes in the full-time residential programme at KAS regional centres;
organise and/or participate in exposure programmes;
offer training on life skills and employable skills relevant to the sports industry e.g. (First Aid, ICT, Financial Literacy, Sports Values, Communication Skills, Introduction to Coaching and Officiating);
invite professional sports clubs to scout potential players during the training program;
operationalize a field office in each centre;
brand the select centres;
develop training programme in adherence to KAS curriculum;
engage qualified coaches accredited by the respective sports federations; and
conduct regular monitoring and evaluation of the sports training programme in the centres.
Note: Upon successful completion of each level, KAS shall award a skills certificate.
