This morning, David Njengere, the CEO of the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC), expressed strong support for the Kenya U17 girls’ football team heading to the World Cup. Njengere conveyed his immense pride in the team’s achievements and reassured them that they would be able to balance their World Cup participation with their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) through its Vice President Doris Petra, also reaffirmed its commitment to continuing its partnership with the Ministry of Education (MOE), highlighting the pride they take in the girls’ performance. They emphasized the importance of encouraging participation in school sports and pledged to provide all necessary support to the team.

The Secretary Administration for Sports, Mr.Evans Achoki, echoed these sentiments, expressing pride in the players and affirming the Ministry’s support. The collaboration with KNEC aims to ensure that the athletes are not disadvantaged by their dual commitments.

Captain Elizabeth Ochaka, acknowledging the team’s initial concerns about balancing academics and sports, expressed gratitude for the support. She assured that the team would give their best performance on the world stage, demonstrating their dedication to representing Kenya with honor.
